Trekking the Brigdungla Trail in central Bhutan offers a rare journey through ancient routes historically traveled by local yak herders. Day 1: Zhurey Gyetsa to Pongchhen Camp
- Duration: ~6 hours
- Highlights: Starting from Zhurey Gyetsa, the trail begins with an easy walk before making a short, gentle uphill climb right after lunch. The path winds through quiet pine forests, setting a comfortable pace for the trek ahead.
- Campsite: Overnight at Pongchhen Camp.
Day 2: Pongchhen to Tsemchi Campsite
- Duration: 5 to 6 hours
- Highlights: Leaving Pongchhen, the path gradually climbs above the treeline near the middle of the hike. The scenery opens up dramatically to showcase sprawling mountain ridges and high-altitude lakes with stunning horizon views.

Day 3: Tsemchi Wilderness Exploration (Halt)

Day 4: Tsemchi to Wombu Camp

- Highlights: The route mostly consists of gentle rolling ups and downs along high open ridges. Enjoy expansive landscape vistas and glimpses of nomadic shelters as you steadily traverse the terrain.
- Campsite: Camp Wombu, a cozy high-altitude meadow site.
Day 5: Wombu Camp to Bim Village
- Duration: 5 to 6 hours
- Highlights: The first half of the hike is a continuous downhill descent through an intriguing, dense forest. The latter half flattens out into straight sections—keep in mind that wet weather can make this portion quite marshy underfoot.
- Finish: The trail finishes as you arrive at Bim Village, returning you safely back to lower settlements.
