Thank you to everyone at Breathe Bhutan for arranging such an enjoyable tour for me. I am sorry we did not get to meet, and am happy to let you know that I was very well taken care of by Tshewang “Tippy” and Jigme.
Tippy shared his considerable wealth of local knowledge and understanding of Bhutanese history and culture with gentle enthusiasm and was always looking out for what I might need or want. I was grateful that he quickly understood how much I like to be outside and enjoyed walking, so we could do more of this. Jigme was a very good driver with whom I always felt safe and confident in his skill and navigation. He also offered many useful perspectives and suggestions including proposing the river rafting “extra” trip, which I really enjoyed.
Both Tshewang and Jigme were always kind and helpful and have supported me very well. I would be very happy to recommend them if a reference is needed at any time. They were always respectful of what I wished for, and at the same time offered me good advice and guidance on making choices between different tour options, which I appreciated.
I also wish to particularly mention my wonderful host on the first night at Aum Om homestay, Aum Wangmo, who I enjoyed meeting very much. It was also lovely to meet her family and share a delicious meal together, when I arrived in the evening. In the morning we made a small tour of her land and gardens, and although it was not such a large amount of time, I felt a sweet and warm connection with her, and I am very glad you included her homestay in my itinerary. If I had more time, I would have been very happy to stay with Aum Wangmo another day and have more time to enjoy with her and her lovely home and family.
I also wish to mention the very skilful bodyworker Pema from the spa at Tashi Namgay Resort on my last night. Pema gave me an excellent deep tissue message when my body was tired after the hike to Tiger’s Nest, and I would recommend this as a wonderful way to finish the tour.
So once again, thank you, Kadiche!
