Bhutan Travel Review – Monica Mitchell, California (August 2025)

In August 2025, Monica Mitchell from California, USA, embarked on an unforgettable journey through Bhutan with Breathe Bhutan. From personalized planning to magical landscapes and cultural highlights, every day exceeded expectations—earning a sincere 5-star review. Here is her authentic review, shared exactly as written:

Breathe Bhutan is the best of the best. From our very first email inquiry and planning the trip, everyone was so communicative, helpful, and eager to create the best possible itinerary for our week in Bhutan. My friend and I had the most wonderful time with our guide, Dorji Wangchuck, and driver, Mr. Phundzho.

From the moment we landed in Paro, our very first day was magical and with their excellent itinerary (which took us to Thimphu, Punakha, and back to Paro), plus special surprises along the way, every single day managed to be better and more amazing than the last. We were taken care of so well by Dorji and Mr. Phundzho, with kindness, flexibility, and consideration for all of our interests and preferences. Some of the very best highlights included: visiting Gaselo monastery, getting tattoos from Kesh, lunch with Mr. Kinley at his home, being welcomed to join the governor and others at a local archery competition, glamping at Tiger’s Nest Camp, our stay at Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary, and of course, hiking to Tiger’s Nest. This was a trip we will never forget and has only made us want to return to Bhutan more. Thank you! I can’t recommend Breathe Bhutan enough.
